We are delighted to share with you one of Klimt02‘s, most recent publications about a project that the Bórax08001 collective specially designed to happen during JOYA 2015. The publication consists on one hand, of an interview made by Carolin Denter, and on the other hand, it premieres the video ¿Qué tienes entre las manos? special edition (What do you have in your hands? special edition) on the internet.
We would n’t have been able to obtain this magnificent result without the collaboration, trust, and generosity of ten of JOYA’15 participating jewellers. They are: Carolyn Barker, Isabelle Busnel, Sébastien Carré, Florence Croisier, Katerina Glyka, Akis Goumas, Dora Haralambaki, Ruriko Ito, Erato Koulobi, and Gigi Mariani.
Also, we would like to thank Erika Jordán, our wonderful video editor, for helping us unify the diverse and varied material we received from these enthusiastic jewellers.
As part of the JOYA Barcelona Art Jewellery Fair 2015, Bórax08001 is pleased to invite you to the conference-debate ¿Qué tienes entre las manos? – What do you have in your hands? on Saturday October 10, at 2:00 p.m. in the conference room of JOYA ’15 (Arts Santa Mònica, C/ La Rambla 7).
During this event we will discuss the project itself, whose aim is to bring Contemporary Jewellery closer to a diverse audience, and we will premiere a video with diverse and interesting images and dialogues from all around the world in response to a call sent to JOYA 2015 participants who wished to collaborate with us in this ongoing project.
We are looking forward to meeting you there!

We have invited several jewellers to carry out the What do you have in your hands? action— a project the collective began in 2011 with the goal of making Contemporary Art Jewellery visible outside its usual channels— especially for the occasion. As part of the event we will project a video of the results and open up a discussion abut the current stance of Contemporary Jewellery, encouraging all attendees to take part and share their views with all of us.
Your point of view is also important!
Once again, the Bórax8001 collective will take part in Pantalla Abierta (open screen) section of the En Construcción II jewellery symposium. It combines a day of talks and panel sessions around contemporary jewellery practice by leading academics and practitioners.

Bórax08001 welcomes you to join us for the opening of Arritmia, next Thursday March 5th, from the bottom of our hearts. This exhibition has a special meaning since it’s an ideal occasion to meet once again in Barcelona, the city that watched us develop as jewellers and as a collective, almost five years ago. This show will be hosted by Amaranto Joies , a true example of a gallery committed to Contemporary Artistic Jewellery and its dissemination.
During an arrythmia the heart can beat too fast, too slow or in an irregular manner. Understanding the creative process as an arrythmia is a metaphor that brings us closer to the reality that the Bórax08001 collective has experienced since its beginnings. With Arritmia the collective wishes to reflect these diverse states, through a selection of jewels created in recent times. Being an exhibition that displays the rhythm of our creative beats and variations in frequency which make each member shine by their own personal imprint.
We thank the artist Sophie Aguilera for her collaboration.
The Bórax08001 collective is delighted to have been selected as a speaker in New Adventures in Jewellery seminar. The aim of this two-day international event is to give insights into the current jewellery scene across the globe. Jewellery Displaced – Bórax08001 is the name of our conference and will be presented by two of our members: Carolina Gimeno and Nelly Van Oost. It will take place on Friday, September 19th, 2014 at 14:45 in HDK School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Simultaneously, we will publish the video-summary of our interventions Jewellery Displaced-Paris, which were part of Circuits Bijoux in 2013.
We invite you to join us at the seminar and check out our release in the projects section of our website!
Four years have gone by since we began walking this road together. It has been a journey full of collaboration, work, creation, trial, error, learning, curiosity and interest in bridging the gap between people and contemporary jewellery in a direct and simple way. We take advantage of this celebration to thank the people that have supported our dreams. Perhaps we have generated a tiny change in us and society.
We hope to continue with this adventure and wish for more fruitful years to come, plenty of rich moments!
Trinidad Contreras a member of the Bórax08001 collective, will present her latest creations in a solo exhibition where juxtaposition plays an important role. Canta i Plora, the title of her new work, is catalan for sing and cry; two opposed yet sometimes complimentary expressions of emotion.
The opening will be on Thursday, February 6th, 2014 at 7 p.m. at La Basílica Galería, Calle St. Sever 8. Her work can be seen until March 4th, 2014.
